A Rhodes scholarship covers all University and College fees, a living stipend £19,092 per annum 2024-25. The Rhodes Scholarships had only been given out in 20 countries (representing more than 60 different countries) before recently.

Rhodes Scholarship Benefits

Fully universities and college fees, a living stipend ($19,092 annually, 2024–25), an arrival allowance, health insurance, a visa, and two economy class flights to and from the UK for the start and finish of studies in England are all covered by a Rhodes scholarship.

The scholarship has a two-year basic duration, subject to acceptable academic achievement and personal conduct at all times.

Eligibility

1. Nationality/citizenship: If you are not eligible to apply through any current Rhodes constituency, you may only apply to the Global Scholarships.

You should also think about inter-jurisdictional consideration rather than the Global Scholarship if you have a strong connection to one or more Rhodes constituencies but do not match their qualifying requirements.

2. Age You have to fit one of the requirements listed below:

i. On October 1, 2024, you must be between the ages of 18 and 23 (that is, you must have been born after October 1, 2000, but before October 2, 2006).

OR (for candidates who are older and have obtained their undergraduate degree later than expected)

ii. You must have been born after October 1, 1997, and be under the age of 27 on October 1, 2024. Additionally, you must havecompleted your first undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2024.

3. Academic achievement: You must have completed, or plan to complete by July 2025, an undergraduate degree (such as a bachelor’s degree), with a background in academics and a grade point average that, at the very least, satisfies or surpasses the requirements for admission to your preferred full-time course at the University of Oxford.

Candidates with a First Class Honours Degree or equivalent and a GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher will have a better chance of being admitted to Oxford due to the very competitive international application process.

4. English language proficiency: You must possess a high enough level of English to satisfy the University of Oxford’s standards for English language proficiency (at the Higher Level specified).

Application process and how to apply

  • Opening for applications is June 1, 2024. Before enrolling to the University of Oxford for the subject you want to do, you should apply for the Rhodes scholarship.
  • After being chosen for the Rhodes scholarship, candidates must utilize the graduate application form available at the University of Oxford to apply for the course of their choice.
  • The Rhodes Parliament staff will assist them with this process. The Rhodes scholarship application form does not need an application fee, however you must submit it online since we are unable to accept applications in any other format.
